You have the legal right to visit your child, but that is a double-edged sword. This right must be enforced by the court, and they are going to enforce the mother's right to child support as well. Your child needs contact with the biological father, so I say step up to the plate and do the right thing. Contact Family Services in your area and they will get the ball rolling.

First of all, the mom is real trifling for that. I don't care how many times y'all slept together or if ur just f*** buddies, a life has been created & she should realize it's not about her & the child deserves more. Second, I'm glad ur being a man even though she making it hard for u. Last, if ur name is on the birth certificate, u should have no problem going to court & fighting for parental rights. If not, check for a lawyer in ur area who can advise u on what to do legally in this situation. Hope it all works out, good luck!

You're going to have to take legal action. It will take some big bucks to do it unless you find free legal aid. Start with your county clerk and work your way up the latter until you find someone who will help you. Keep asking, and don't stop. Just remember though, once you get your foot in the door, don't be surprised if you don't get slapped with child support payments and all the other responsibility that comes with a child.

If you are already paying child support, there is no way legally they can stop you from having visitation unless you are on probation for a felony.

Get your phone book our and find a lawyer. Generally, the first consultation is free. Do not make further contact with the family of your baby. Never give up initial information, with threats of any sort. Once you obtain a lawyer, let the lawyer do his job. Chances are under your circumstances, being a stand up kind of father, you could probably negotiate a reasonable fee for your lawyers service or possibly even get them to do it for free. After you make this first step, the Grandmother will see you mean business. At that point they may even decide, to negotiate a term of parental rights.I hope the best outcome for you and especially your child.

Find a lawyer. If you pay child support then you are entitled to visitation. If you have visitation and she still won't let you see your child then you make arrangements to pick him up according to your visitation schedule. When she won't let him come then you call the police every time and let them file a report that she is refusing. then when she goes back to court she will be held in contempt and risk a chance of losing the child to you. But you have to talk to a lawyer or someone at support services regarding visitation. This happened to my husband when it can to visitation with his daughter. We now have joint custody because of his ex's stupidity. Now, it took a long time and about 2 months of not seeing his daughter but it has been worth it

Go to court. Be prepared to start paying child support if you don't already. If you are the father and you pay child support the court will not deny you visitation rights. Unless the court finds you unstable. Good Luck.

If you truly want something to do w/your baby then take the mother to court and you will get visitation rights no matter what the mother says. I think that it is terrific that you want to be in the baby's life!!

Why did she want a DNA test if she is not going to allow you to see the baby?

Get a lawyer and take her to court to get your visitation rights. Until the child is a certain age you will not get overnight visits but you can have several hours a week to see your child. There are some organizations to that help fathers get their rights.

Talk to your local child support office. If you're willing to help support the baby, they can also help you get a court order for visitation. Good luck, and kudos to you for wanting to be involved.
