She might not like dancing. Or she could be dating someone at your school and doesn't want to get caught up. She could also just want to be friends and a dance is more like a date than say hanging out at the movies. But rather than guess, just ask. Hopefully she'll be honest and that will ease your mind...and give you a chance to find another date to the dance!

Let me think...well...the movies would be kinda dark and it would be hard to recognize who was who there. The dance would be lit up like a christmas tree. My sense tells me that maybe she doesn't want to be seen in public with you. On the other hand..she might have two left feet and is afraid of making a fool of herself if she falls over your feet at the dance. Bottom line...she is afraid of something. Try to talk to her and calm her fears. Ask her what is up...

It sounds like she is a little insecure and may not want to go somewhere where it may feel like everyone is looking at her, for example, a homecoming dance. You'll have to help her build up her self-confidence by encouraging her and "being there" for her.

A lot of people feel uncomfortable dancing, she might feel a bit ackward and would prefer something elso so she won't feel like a clutz. She may be a good dancer just insecure

maybe she just doesnt know how to dance...or she has nothing to wear for the dance. but dont take it personally though. if she said she's happy to go to the movies with you, then that means that she's interested with you.

Probably thinks you can't dance or would rather enjoy your company at another location. She might be getting peer pressure but really likes you and doesn't want the social hassle. Be satisfied your getting to be with her at all or you can be greedy and want it all or nothing

Either she is shy or she doesn't feel comfortable dancing. Ask her why she doesn't want to go to homecoming with you.

She may not like dances. I hate them, so if I was asked, I would say no as well. Just ask her why. It may not have anything to do with you at all.

Either she can not dance, or she feels uncomfortable in crowds. Last choice, she thinks you can't dance.
