should i have to apologize for being on the phone when my mother in law came over unexpectedly??

i was on the phone with nextel about my cell phone that was screwed up and we were in the middle of taking care of everything....

and they left before i could get off....

No. She definitely should have called before she came over. It's just polite to let people know. I think she should be the one apologizing for just popping in without a phone call first and then leaving, it's rude. And everyone knows how difficult it is to finally get to that 'real' person when you're on the phone trying to get something straightened out.

It's not like you were on the phone chatting away about nothing in particular. If it bothers you, go ahead and apologize.
