If you're just looking for a room, try the YMCA. (it's not like the Village People song any more).

There aren't many big hotels in Brooklyn. The only "real" hotel is the Brooklyn Marriott. Its very convenient to the subway and close to DUMBO area as well as Brooklyn Heights.

You could also try some bed and breakfast websites. Sorry, I don't have any B&B recommendations.

there are less than 5 hotesl in brooklyn.

There are more in queens because of the airports- jfk and la guardia.
