Tree Tea oil is reputed to get rid of scabies. In addition I advise you to wash all clothing, sheets, and anything a person with scabies has come in contact with. Then put the clothing, after washing, in the dryer. Do not hang outside to dry. The medical alternative is to go to your doctor and he will prescribe a permethin cream that you rub on your body, and that will kill the mites with one treatment (8-14 hrs then wash off).

No, it will not kill the mites. The mites have burrowed into and beneath the skin. Oil nor water is capable of penetrating the skin to even get to them. You simply need a prescription cream treatment to kill them. Even that will not necessarily stop the itch and irritation quickly. The reason for the itch is an allergic reaction to the saliva, waste products and such that are released by the scabies mites. It will continue until the body has managed to absorb and eliminate it all, and the scabies themselves are dead. Tea tree oil is useful in lots of things, but not treating scabies.
