Probalby a Mercedes Benz long sedan. He did need to get around and I would guess some rich guy would donate one to attempt to buy favor from the great one. Probably a car dealership owner who is feeling guilty about all the crap they pull on all the car buyers.

He wouldn't, I don't believe. Part of his whole series of beliefs was that passive resistance was the way to go, and in pursuing that, he pretty much stopped using modern (for the time)technology.

Also, magic carpets are a Middle-Eastern creation, not Indian.
