This book was written as fiction. Not intended to cause the stir it has I'm sure. For the Author to know what was in Da Vinci's mind he would have to have been there.
Consider this. How do you think Da Vinci would have ever known this? He lived century's after Christ was on earth. With no documented evidence of this how would he know?
If is fiction. But quite a story at that.

NO! IT's TOTALLY BOGUS!
all about Jesus and The Roman Catholic Church! it's like Dan Brown made a story about Martin Luther abusing animals, which we all know was impossible. da vinci code has no enough evidence.
though Dan Brown does not admit that it is not true. Look at the back of the book, he included Washington's Post Review which says "Be Enlightened"

Please read "The Treasure of Rennes le Chateax" by Putnum and Wood.
Synopsis
In 1885 Berenger Sauniere was appointed priest of Rennes-le-Chateau, a tiny village in the south of France. It is said that he found a fabulous treasure, or was guardian of an amazing secret about Jesus Christ. Many authors have written about the mystery, each adding their own interpretation to an ever-deepening whirlpool of fantasy. The Priory of Sion, a mysterious organisation apparently founded in the 12th century, and boasting among its Grand Masters Leonardo da Vinci, Jean Cocteau and Claude Debussy, is said to lie behind the extraordinary tale. In his recent exciting novel, "The Da Vinci Code", Dan Brown makes much use of the Priory of Sion. But does the Priory of Sion really exist? Bill Putnam and John Edwin Wood have now published a serious study of Rennes-le-Chateau. They come to firm conclusions about mystery and reveal the real source of Sauniere's wealth and the true nature of the Priory of Sion.

Don't know, but the idea that Jesus was not attracted to women never made any sense to me after around the 3rd grade when I first actually thought about it.
I understand what it is like to be a man and how being a man makes one feel. The idea that any man could go through life without noticing how beautiful and attractive women are is absurd. Unless of course he is gay. That adds a whole new dimension to the idea that I really don't think it is worth getting into.
If there was a Jesus, and I believe that there was. I believe he lead a normal life as a man. With a fully functioning relationship with women. I think that any other idea is the product of silly Victorian morality that saw sex as something dirty and distasteful. A Foolish idea we are better off without.
Love and blessings

the code was in a fictional book by Dan Brown where he used factual historic happenings and added some "fiction" to make it sell ... and millions of ppl now look at it as a religion ... sad ... if you really think this is true do some home work and part the fact from fiction .. its pretty easy to do so ... now some of the theories in Dan Browns book could be true ... no REAL way to disprove some of it .. but i guess thats what makes it interesting ... kinda like ET

Not. Dan Brown admits it is a work of fiction. He dramitizes and outright lies about how Opus Dei operates, and many, many other reasons.
Dan Brown wants to say it is a work of fiction based upon "acurate historical sources". However, the references he makes to these historical sources are generally far from accurate.
And of course the bottom line is that Jesus never got married and had a child.

no it isn't - it's fiction - and sadly enough, it is planting doubt in people's hearts and minds. Since you read the book or watched the movie, may I suggest kindly to read the other book, "the Bible" (new testament) and perhaps, "the Passion" or "The Greatest Story Ever Told" to get the other "side" - and follow your heart to the truth.

No, it's a work of fiction, loosely based some theories. The supposed "real" secret organization, the Priory of Sion, is a hoax. When he stated it was real, he either lied or didn't check his sources.
