He has been told two different things. One person said he would get it right after AIT, the other said he wouldnt get it until he gets to his next duty station. Who is right?

I got an enlistment bonus when I joined the Marine Corps, and received it once I reported to my first permanent duty station.

after successful completion of AIT, but more likely he will have to request it at his Ultimate Duty Station. It may not be automatic, and most school commands will not process the paperwork as there are too many transient personnel around.

Well, in my experience - hubby recieved his bonus about 6 months after he was in.
He will not get it right after AIT in most cases, he will get it when he gets to his PDS.
