I get an error message saying the files are corrupted. This has happened 3 times and I have tried downloading it in 2 different programs. How can I fix the problem?

Try this website:

Also run scan for viruses.
May have to manually uninstall spybot installation files to properly install spybot. There may be some files that are remaning on the system and causing conflict.

Are you getting a message that says Bad Checksum? This is a feature on the packets of data that are sent to you. In the packet there is a slot (FCS--Field Check Sum) that adds up all of the 1s and 0s at the sending point. When the packet arrives at your computer, the 1s and 0s are summed again. If the two nummbers are different, you are not receiving the data that was sent to you--it has been corrupted.

This does not imply there is something wrong with your computer. Mostly this is due to the fact that too many people are trying to download from the site at the same time.

Spybot is very popular in Europe (it is put out by Francis Koella's group in Ireland). Try back at a later time--usually later in the evening is best.

Hope this helps.
