Can you give me "PROOF" that LOVE exists? I mean you can feel it and it feels real but can you prove it's existence? If you can't provide Proof of love then why ask me for PROOF of God? And I am not asking about parental love. That is a natural thing. I am asking about that love which a man or woman has for their mate that transcends all selfishnes. When one loves their partner so deeply that they would risk or give their lives to save them. Or when they are willing to spend years taking care of them. Where is the proof?Just a thought I had.Not trying to be rude so let's be pleasant please.

Why the hostility Jaybird? I have not forced anyone to read or answer. I am merely debating. Isn't that allowed? I see it happening everywhere. It's called discussion.

That is a very good argument.
I don't go to church,So people think I don't believe. I just say I haven't met a true Christian there. I do think some kind of God must exist , the nature of the universe is to well done to be a accident. And also through all of time every tribe of mankind has had a belief in a spirit world
Even those who never heard of the Bible.
Why would God only go to one little place on Earth to start the"Word"?

Love definitely exists in many forms and differs greatly from the love I feel for my wife, my daughters, my dog and the love of a good cold beer. I suspect it is quite evident it does exist when you look at your own mother and Father and recognize the love they have for each other.

I can appreciate you looking for an analogy in how we can 'feel' a love and belief for God and how that parallels with the 'feeling' of love. Neither one is a tangible object that can be held in your hand, so it is easy to question it's existence. For myself, I am agnostic simply because I have a difficult time believing some of the 'facts' of many religions. I do not begrudge anyone else for their beliefs and enjoy listening to others thoughts.

So if you are seeking proof by visually seeing and holding 'love' in your hand, then I cannot offer that. It is similar to 'hatred' in that respect, and cannot be shown to you as an object simply because it is a feeling. Sure, you can see the outcome of hatred but that is a result of that feeling, and not the actual feeling itself.

Your question had the answer. There are countless tales of others who risked their lives to save others (Pocahontas), firefighters, etc. They are true examples of love. So, you have proven love exists. Whether you believe God exists is irrelevant. Love and all it's positive attributes (kindness, forgiveness, tolerance, etc.) is the righteous path. Some can only find this through a formalized religion and don't shove it down your throat, others find it necessary to be very public about their faith and shove it down your throat. Either way, only you know whether love is within you or not. Good luck with your search.

I've been married for 25 years. During those 25 years my husband has had 6 back operations, 4 heart attacks, open heart surgery, 4 uclers and 1 of those was a bleeder, he is diabetic, was anemic, got better and is anemic again.
We've had many arguements over the last 25 years. We've always worked things out.

I think that's proof of love, don't you?

BTW I am Christian.

Some things you just can't explain, one of those being Love. It is something that you just know that you are in. Brain Senses are a pretty complex thing and since I am not a scientist I can't explain it, pretty much it is a belief thing just like religion. You can't prove that God exists but you believe that he does.

The difference is, "love" is not a person. "Love" is a word created by human to describe a kind of feeling humans experience.

Whereas "God" is a word invented by humans to describe a powerful being that exists only in our imagination.

Have you ever "seen" electricity? The answer is NO. No one has ever seen electricity. What we have seen is the result, or effect, of it. But the thing in itself has never been observed.

Following that realistic analogy... Love and God must also be real. Can't see them...but we have seen their effects.

God Bless you......
