Because that would be discrimination on the grounds of sexuality. Logically, you should post all single service personal overseas, or rather, all service personal without children.

It may seem fair to those with children, but to those without it's far from. It's just another form of discrimation.

No army which has discrimation as part of it's policy can occupy any sort of moral high-ground or claim to be democratic, so any army which did what you suggested would then be counted as one of the terror states (as the society is not founded on democratic principles).

If you're happy with that, then go for it.

If only it was that simple. The thing is, the military is a voluntary service, which means that what they sign up for is to serve their country. That is regardless of whether they're married with children or not. The military doesn't decide to send people on a whim. They deploy entire units, or ask from volunteers from certain units to deploy. It wouldn't be fair to anyone to pick and choose according to their marital status.

Are you even suggesting that heterosexual parents are more valuable than heterosexuals without kids? That they are better than gays? What next, send all non whites? This is how the Nazis got started by claiming someone superior, a little at a time. Nobody is better than anyone else.

For that matter, why not send you over instead of someone that has been there twice?

I think it makes more sense to deploy repuglicans overseas that way the war would be fought by those that believe it is right. That would also solve the problem here in the states as the repuke's would be gone.

excuse me? what about the heterosexual ones who are married but don't have kids? would you expect THEIR lives to be less important than some parent's? That's the most selfish thing I have ever heard.

Parental status has no bearing nor should it be used as an excuse to get out of doing the JOB THAT YOU SIGNED UP FOR.

Because the militaryis supposed to defend our country, advance our geopolitical goals, step in once diplomacy is in the crapper, and reform the nations of other countries into our model of government.
This is the most inane , unthingking , irrational question ever.
