Are they really that good? I worked temporarily in a call center taking their calls and they seem to be bad.

What experience did you have with Maytah Appliances?

In a call center it can appear bad because you don't know the percentage of problems overall compared to other makes.

They are good quality but also expensive. Kind of like a Sony TV. When the price difference is compared to the performance differences, you have to decide whether it's worth it to you. For example, I find Whirlpool and RCA meet my needs just fine for less money. Maytag may have a lot of stainless steel and Sony a little better picture, but enough to justify the price difference? Depends on how picky you are.

If I buy a Whirlpool for $400 or a Maytag for $800...the Maytag better last at least twice a long as the Whirlpool to make it a good value.

I have a Maytag washer that has been around over 20 years! My grandmother would only buy Maytag appliances. When my dad and I went to Home Depot to look at new washing machines, he told me that I need to buy the Maytags! I'm guessing my family has a lot of faith in the brand. Working in a call center, you will more than likely only get complaints. Every product has a few downfalls! But I think Maytag is a pretty good brand, they are very reasonably priced, and come in a variety of models!

I have a 10 year old Maytag washing machine & it worked just as good as the day I bought it.
