Sure, Mike, why not? How 'bout my theory, that he had a twin brother and they crucified the wrong guy? It was only 2000+ years ago and who is going to prove us wrong?

The Bible tells us that the Roman soldiers made certain that Jesus was dead before allowing his body to be removed from the cross. In the book of John chapter 19 verses 28 through 37 describes Jesus' death. The thieves on either side of Jesus had not yet died, so the soldiers broke their legs. This prevented them from bearing weight on their legs. The literally died from suffocation. In verse 33 it states, "but when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus'side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. The man who saw it has given testimoney and his testimony is true..." The medical explanation, if memory serves me, is that when a person dies, the blood platelets and red blood cells separate, creating the blood and water that the soldiers and the other witness saw.

if he was in a coma, the bible would have a soap-opera-type scene where everyone who knew him came to see him and had flashbacks about all the good times they'd had in the past.

on a serious note about his grave, there was an article i read online a while ago (new york times maybe, i don't remember) about a new theory that big J's *brother* got crucified, while JC himself went to japan, lived another 30 or so years, established himself as a local hero to a few villages, and is buried somwhere in a remote village. there was a lot of fairly believable evidence, so maybe that's the answer....

We could always do some experimenting on this one.
We could take a volunteer, keep him up all night, beat him up, whip him with a lash with bits of metal tied into it 39 times, put him through three trials, force a crown of plaited thorns down over his head till the thorns imbed themselves into his flesh and the blood runs down into his eyes, nail him up to a cross and let him hang there for something like six hours, run a spear up into his side, and then stick him on a cold slab for a couple of days, and then check on him to see if he is in a "coma".
Could we have a volunteer from the audience, please? Mike7333, would you step forward?

Spear was pierces into his side. His legs were broken to prevent his from running away. Stone were rolled overs. Roman soldirers were guarding.

Besides, there were records of earthquake, and the curtain seperate the holy place from holy of holiness were torn. All these were predicted by the prophets.

It will be beyond a super arrangement to get all these done.

That's is one of the premises, based on the type of injury -- sword in the lungs. Most notably you should read a book by Robert Graves called "King Jesus".

Read chapter 11 of 'The Case for Christ' by Lee Strobel. He interviews a surgeon about the crucifixion.
Not only will that leave you convinced, if there was one thing the Romans knew about death, it was killing their enemies, and making sure they were dead.

Gee, didn't know those people were so stupid enough not to look for other signs like zero heartbeat and zero pulse rate? Or maybe you could have overlooked it.
