The fact that you even need to ask this question shows horrendous ignorance!!!

Hinduism in the national religion of India. It is a peace loving, pre-Judeo Christian (aka "pagan" to most right wingers) religion based on worshipping God in His many forms such as the Hindu Trinity of Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Protector and Shiva the Destroyer and their female counterparts, Goddesses Saraswati, Lakshmi and Parvati. India is a Hindu country. Most Hindus are peace loving vegetarians who venerate the cow as their only animal food source (milk). They celebrate love, sensuality, music, dance and nature. Hindu women can wear traditional dress (the beautiful Sari) or modern western dress and are not expected to cover their heads or bodies. Hindus are hard working, artistic, cultured people.

Islam is a completely different religion which has some basis on the old Testament but relies mainly on the Koran and the teachings of ther Prophet Mohammed. It dates from the first few millenia AD and comes from the Arab countries. It is responsible for a lot of terrorism as many Muslims beleive theirs is the only religion, all non-muslims are "infidels" and it is their duty under God to kill or convert them. They have all sorts of rules such as circumcision, women having to cover themselves, dogs are unclean, pigs are dirty (can't eat pig meat) pictures in a house are ungodly, music is evil, blah blah. It is like a very extreme form Christianity about 1000 years ago (but we've moved on they haven't.)

of course there is a lot of difference if not they won't called it Muslim and Hindus. First and foremost they pray to different God and the only similarity between Muslims,Hindus or any other religious belief is that if you cut the wrist of any religious follower, their blood is red in colour. So whatever your belief pls respect your fellow human being. So whoever is doing any destruction to fellow human being or property in the name of religion is misguided Soul.

I don't know much but from the little bit I know, there are a load of differences. In Hinduism they do believe in one creator god - Shiva. In addition there are several other gods and goddesses. They could worship god Shiva as the leader of all gods and the others like God Vishnu. And also they have a lot of ritual practices.

Whereas, Muslims believe in one god in Allah and more or less the story lines are closer to that of Christianity.

Hindu's practice Avihimsa - Not to hurt anyone physically or mentally. Where as Muslims are OK'd to kill animals for food, even though they pray before they do.

The Koran, like the bible is written in one book which will contain about 400 pages. The Hindus have their scripts written in 4 large books named Rig, Yajoor, Saman and Atharvan.

The Brahmani culture - which is the root of Hindu culture and History is more than 5000 years old. The Muslim belief came in to practice only 1,500 years back if I am correct, though the History of the people could be taken back to Mesopotamian and Nile river based histories.

Actually Hindu's are the people who brought in the concept of God to the world - it was spread to greece and egypt, which in return led to people trying to find out the truth in those lines and Chrstianity and Islam was born. There is a speculation that Jesus - during the time he was missing in Israel (from age 13 - 30 if I am correct as mentioned in the Bible) fled to India and learn from the Brahmans which he came back to Israel and preached.

There is also a speculation that Jesus feld to India after the day of resurrection (Punishment by crucifixion - it is not to kill people but to punish by hurting them and after 3 days you are free to go) and lived till the day he died.

Muslims believe that you should pray directly to the one God called Allah.
Muslims pray 5 times a day.
Muslims believe in the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.

Hindus pray to other gods to get through to the one main God they believe in.

well the musilums believe that there is only one god and its Allah,, the prophit mohommad , said that they should worship to Allah only ,, so thet pray to Allah about 5 to 7 times a day everyday.

Now the hinduis believe in more then one god ,, they believe that there is a god for everything in life that they worship,,like a god for the sun or the earth, etc.
