Definite deviant tendencies, old Apollo. I mean? Turn trees into nymphs, what's not to like? We don't look a gift horse in mouth round here.

Women are bad, so must be punished.
Men stick together.
Apollo didn't think about Pan's horny nature...
Think about the fact that these stories are VERY old, the times were different then.
Pan was a demigod, Daphne human, right?...

If you read most mythology the Gods did not battle with themselves. They took out there anger or joy on the people of the earth. The people of the time used Mythology to explain their hardships. They were being punished, rewarded or tested because of the Gods whims. In all the story's the Hero's or Heroin's are the humans. The Gods all had faults.

Well......some women would rather die than lose their honour, and Laurels are very nice trees.
I guess Apollo wasn't into gratuitous violence.
If he'd just beaten Pan up,there would be very little for us to discuss!!!!

LOL
It's like you asking me why the fairy turned a pumpkin in to the carriage for Cinderella and not the Apple.
These are stories, you read them and enjoy them when you are small - like before attending age or not knowing what masturbating is :)
