Eastern third of state also humid.

Austin: great quirky rapidly growing city with much entertainment. A+++

Dallas: big city, lots of jobs, full of itself. lots of bars & places to eat.

Houston: humid!!! The city that eat's it's own young

Amarillo: dry, windy, small city feel, conservative, not much entertainment

El Paso: full of crime but near great parks, wilderness. Sometimes smoggy.

San Antonio: hot, humid maze. large city with interesting mix of people. Near interesting parks, wild areas.

Port Aransas: small fishing town feel. laid back. not much industry. the beach!

It has been a while since I've been there so things may have changed.

I live there. I live in Austin, and it is by far the funnest place in Texas. you can go to 6th street and party as much as you want, and almost always there is some type of live music playing around town. All you have to do is pick up a Chronicle and you can find something fun to do with your day. Or, literally, take a hike!lol. Also, San Antonio rocks try getting a hotel on the river walk; the view is lovely. There is always the Alamo, and you can go see the San Antonio Spurs play a game of basketball if they're in town. Dallas is great for the malls and the awesome Reunion Tower, and also, you could go catch the Mavericks play if they are in town. Houston is O.K., but the traffic is horrible!!! Too much construction. But it's worth it to see the Astros play at Minute Maid Field ( that stadium is awesome!!) or go to Astro World, a Six Flags park. Every city but Austin that I mentioned here has an amusement park. Have fun!!

I've been to the Houston airport and I've been to San Antonio. I liked the city okay. I was there for my sister's basic training graduation at Lackland AFB. I disliked that I had to be in Texas.

.. Texas is great ... some people prefer Corpus Christi, I for myself like Dallas most. It is as clean, nice, handsome and amazing as Singapore ... but not so close to the sea as Singapore...
