A pretty good approximation is the square root of your height (in feet) gives the distance to the visible horizon (in miles).

6 feet tall with feet on the surf line: about 2-3 miles.

2 feet above the water in a kayak: about one mile

1000 feet up a moutain near the ocean (or a flat plain): 32 miles.

Note that these are additive. Two kayakers can see each other's heads at twice the distance. Two people at 1000 feet would be visible to each other 64 miles apart.

There is no end for the horizon 'cause it is just an imaginary point where the sky and the water or land appears to meet. So, the farther U move the farther it moves away..........so there is no limit or specific length to go near the horizon....

On a clear day if you take a ride up a hot air balloon the Horizon is as far as you can see or not see.

It depends on how high your eye is above the ground and the size of the sphere you are standing on. It would be about 3 miles away for a 6 foot tall person on the open ocean or some other flat (?!) open place on the Earth.

The horizon is fourty miles. Twenty on either side of you. It could be more if you are elevated and less if lower than the surroundings, but on flat ground it is fourty miles.

Depends on how tall you are and what you're standing on. Usually around 7 miles for a six footer standing on the beach.
