First we need to determine which God we are talking about here. Are you referring to the real God, the unconditionally loving God who we are all a part of? This is the one Jesus was talking about when he said the kingdom of God is within you. The one who is our dearest friend and closest companion. This one I can trust.

Or are we talking about the angry little judgmental God that lives on some far off cloud called heaven. The one who seems to be more concerned with our errors than he is with our successes? You know the egocentric needy little God that always wants people to worship him. The one who is always unavailable because he is only a fantasy? You need to specify if you want a real answer.

Once I felt a lot like you are feeling now then something happened that made me feel the real Gods presence. I was an atheist then one day I had a sort of a vision of a distant relative that lived over a thousand miles away. I convinced myself that it was just a case on an overactive imagination. Three days later I got a call telling me that he had gone into a coma and died the same day that I felt I had been contacted by him. I can honestly say that this changed my life completely. I felt like God had gone out of his way to help me find my way home. This is why I get angry when people talk about the judgmental God. The love I felt that day made me realize that God would never even think about judging or punishing anyone for any reason.

Dear, belief in omini present, omni potent, creator of the world as god was supposed to die long back and the so called religions. But, to our surprise still such a god survives in believer's mind. Why do you want to be a murderer and go for his funeral...don't be a hypocrat. Let him live as long as the believer wants in their minds. Let us sit and watch.

How about an original idea on the subject...

"God" as embodiment of our wishes (what WE would do in His position) might exist in the FUTURE - it's that which life strives to become - so consider it may well be that God is not born yet!

there wasn't a funeral as there wasn't anything to bury, although metaphorically speaking, I suppose the god myth sort of got buried by the spread of reason and thinking

God created you my boy, and he created the world, the stars in thesky, the planets and anything else in creation....although I don't know about M&M's....if he created them...don't know about that one...but he created the first and second Adam and it is through the second Adam (Jesus Christ) that we have the lives we have today.....he intercedes on our behalf even if we've been bad that day...so love God and love Jesus Christ....AMEN.
