First of all, many people diagnose themselves compleatly wrong... First things first, try adjusting your diet (cut out simple sugars and caffene) and try excersizing... See how that works before you go adding more junk to your body such as crappy herbal remedies.

I would first get a doctor's assessment of the issue. However, drugs tend to work in reverse for those with ADD. For instance, Ritalin, commonly prescribed to those with ADD is actually a stimulant, but it slows ADD and hyper people down.
A friend of mine at work claims he is ADD and drinks a lot of coffee to keep himself in check. Caffeine is definitely over the counter. You may want to try it for a week or two.
Exercise can also help too, especially if your case is mild.

I watched a current affairs program the other day ...
apparently Fish Oil helps kids with ADD to calm down and concentrate. You know, those Fish Oil in the shape of oval capsules ... clear brown color? Those ones ... and you can get those from any Pharmacy of Health Food Store.
They tested it on kids with ADD and all parents said it worked. Maybe worth trying.
