With all my respect to all the posted answers, I don't agree.

Now let me explain:

A few months ago, 2 egyptian soldiers were killed by israel on the egyptian israely boarders (they didn't cross to israel), and you know what happened then, simply nothing because ultimately Egypt promotes piece, and this was the price, 2 are dead.

Now hezbollah has captured 2 israeli soldiers IN LEBANON. They haven't killed them!! like what israel did with the 2 egyptians on Egyptian territory.
Now how do u name this?
Are Hezbolla terrorists for not killing them? How do you call israel for killing the 2 egyptians, victims?!!!!

Now, lets assume that hezbollah are terrorists which is not the case, why is israel skrewing the whole country? killing innocent women and children? How do u call this?
If they are after Hezbollah, they should go only after hezbollah instead of destroying the whole country.

More over, some might say that hezbollah is shooting innocents too, but then we have to check who started the fight?

All this being said, there is still a media pollution in place.
Always there are 2 sides for any story that depends on who is telling the story, the victim of the attacker or the ones supporting either. I guess you might be aware of the media in the states or in Israel, but you should also see the other side of the story. The truth is always in the middle somewhere.

You know what, and these are just expectations, there will not be a prisoner exchange as this is not an valid option any more.

You know, some times it is just funny, we talk about human right and peace, and look what israel is doing. What is really more funny is that the most of the world sees them as victims. No, the innocent lebanese are the victims.

You are talking about prisoners exchange. I guess it is too late.

Let me also pinpoint something, since israel started, they are killing palastinians who are defending their countries as terrorists and ofcourse this is extended now to lebanon.

Let me ask you 1 question. Imagine that your country what ever it is (strong or not) envaded/attached/ occupied (choose the name you like) and you see your family and friends dying everyday, your whole country is isolated, no more food or medicine, no economy, people are no more working or making their living. What would you do?
Would you just wait for your ultimate end (death) or will you try to change what you are in?

With no doubt, you will try to fight against what you are in (this is natural).

Above all this, if my family died due to fights with israel, what do you think I 'll grow up having in my mind. I guess revenge. The prove is what is happening in Palastine these days. All the new generation are born and raised with hatred to israel. It will be exactly the same in Lebanon- syria and what ever comes later.

So is this fighting for peace? Or does peace means that only israel lives peacefully from all surrounding countries, but if anybody does anything they don't like , then it is not peaceful and the whole **** is launched.

Good Luck

Kidnappings aren't important. No offense to the familiy of the soldiers involved, but that's not what this is about, it was just the inceddent that broke the camel's back so to speak. Certianly you don't negotiate with terrorists or you get more terrorism, that's a proven fact.

At this point, I agree. I think Israel should just go ahead & wipe the possibility of a future palestinian state out of existence along with attacks on terrorist supporting countries (Iran, Syria). Syria already has significant chemical weapons, as does Iran & of course the speculation is that Iran is working on a nuclear weapon to counter those in the Israeli arsenal. If you're Israel, why would you wait till they have such weapons or pull bakc & let them strengthen their militaries. Just attack now, or provoke an attack you can respond to overwhelmingly, before the threat is insurmountable. I say the Palestinians have been offered virtually everything they asked for, including Isreal pulling back from teh occupied territories, and they responded by electing Hamas & allowing continued & escelating terrorist attacks (including one chemical weapon rocket). I say they've lost thier chance & unless they move quickly to fix things may have lost it forever.

The idea is to get the Palestinians to stop kidnapping Israelis and firing rockets at cities. If They reward the Palestinians by trading prisoners then the Palestinians will do this more often.

In case nobody has figured this out - Israel is putting pressure on Lebanon to stop allowing the terrorists free use of their territory.

Indians once agreed to exchange a terrorist to the people in a hijacked plane. Those people were saved, but the released terrorist is killing other innocent people, now a days.
What Israel is doing correct.
No country would yield to the demands of the terrorists, except India.

You are correct...

If Isreal gives in to thier demands, they will abduct more soldiers for prisoner exchanges. Plus those who are now "free" will become terrorists because they hate Isreal more!

Let them fight it out... This is for Isreal's survival now... Those terrorists are not going to be stopped and they are virtually declaring a "holy war" as syria now stated...

I wish you well..

I suppose, the soldiers know the risk of being a soldier well.
Israel has done what is right, its right to defend herself. Never negotiate with the scums of the world.

They have done it in the past. It only encourages more kidnappings though. They are usually very lopsided though. One or two Israelies for hundreds of their prisoners. They are done encouraging it though
