I had my wisdom teeth removed surgically and wasn't allowed to brush all my teeth for about 2 weeks. I could only gargle with salt water and brush the front teeth. I also couldn't fit a toothbrush in my mouth because my gums/jaw were so swollen. Check with your dentist/doctor.

You can start brushing on the day of extraction itself, just to be careful that you do not touch the extraction site. A mouthwash should help you clean that area, but make sure you dont rinse immediately: You may dislodge the healing clot.
A warm saline on the next day of extraction is the best way to keep infection under control.

After wisdom tooth is extracted, the brain goes dead. And one cannot know where to do the brushing. So, better you dont. We dont want you brushing in the wrong places, do we?

You can brush and floss the day of, you just need to be gentle around the extraction site.
