It's possible. N Korea is actually Kim Jong Il. So yeah i guess one nutcase could decide he wants to launch an attack. His people are indoctrinated from birth to believe he is a god, so they will do as they are told.

Well, we have NO megatons aimed at anything in N Korea, the silo missiles in the US were deprogrammed from Russian targets (by agreement) after the cold war, but can be reprogrammed in a bout an hour. Ohio class submarines do reprogram more quickly & I understand we keep one on deternce patrol in the region 24-7-365.
That said, Kim Jong Il is known to have brain erroding syphilis & mental imbalance. He maintains internal control refocusing everyone off their own problems & onto this mass perception of an external threat & with purges & police state fear. He further flexes muscles to get international tribute paid so that he won't threaten the world, and as a commercial to the countries hostile to teh US who have in the past purchased his missile & nuclear technology (we've intercepted SOME of the many shipments to Iran)

If Kim Jong Il doesn't get the attention he needs, he may well try something that stupid. If Bush would send some diplomats over there, offer him a few bucks for his nukes and make him feel important, he'd probably settle down.
He's like a spoiled child that acts up to get attention. Give it to him, before he give to us.

Japan doesnt want nukes, on thier soil...
So, if N.Korea launches them, our phlanax guns will take the missle out...
Then, Kim (duck soup), will be just a memory...
As we may just "finish" that silly war, that was begun back in the 50s...
I wish you well..

North Koreas King is always in need of attention. Bush should send his people over there, offer him some money, and give in a little and he will probably calm down.

i think they try to look tough to gives the world a message that they prepared to do everything the could to defend themselves with any means necessary. It is more like a mind game, like who bail first in a car race at the end of a cliff.

I don't think it's so much audacity as it would be insanity. And yes, I do think it's within that idiot's potential.

No, I think they are just using it as a bargaining chip so they can vie for a bigger piece of the worlds pie.
