It depends on how many they have coming in at that time. If you send it off paying the minimum, then it can take upto 6 weeks if it's a busy period.

If you need it within a week, then there is an option on te form and that takes 1 week. Alternatively, you can go into the passport office and take your details, such as passport, with you and with an extra fee, you can have your passport on the day. You have to wait though. I think that will cost around 50 pound but you get it on the day.

I have recently renewed my passport [UK citizen] if you use the post office check & send sevice they will check your forms & make sure the photo is OK then they putyour old Passport and form + photo in a special envelope and send it off for you I got mine back in about 5/7 days no probs but a little word of advice try and get your photos done in a studio not a kiosk because they are very fussy about the photo now days even using the post office service they cannot guarantee that the passport office will accept it I was a bit concerned about my photo because my spectacle frame seemed to obscure one of my eyes but without them on I could not see the screen in the kiosk so I called the passport agency and explained the problem tho the guy I spoke to was as helpfull as he could be he obviously could not see me or my photo but he did say if you have any doubt get another set done in a studio tho all this info is on the application form so check it out !Ithink in total with the post office service it cost abot £52 00

Ordinarily you are supposed to give 6 weeks for it to come through.

There is a way to do it faster, but it takes more money. You can get your application from the Post Office, and there should be a number on the form you can call for help about speeding the process up.

If you want one very fast go to your passport office.
Take £100 with you your old passport and every thing else it says on the tin and if every thing goes to plan you get it back in about 4
hours later.
But do your self a favour, don't go abroad for an abortion.
Speak to your parents,or your local nurse.???

I Found that taking it to the post office and paying slighty more to have everything checked helped, it took about 10days. You can, if you have the time and monies, go direct to one of the main issuing offices, but if you do this be prepared to get there early and leave late, it can take all day.
