Adobe acrobat is a heavy software. It takes time to load the program files, fonts etc into memory. It also has a lot of steeings which it has to check each time it starts up. Also, if your pc runs out of physical ram, it takes time to transfer the file to virtual ram(hard disk, which are slower), Hence it takes time to load. One solution is to enable the setting of acrobat fast launch(dont know exact name). By doing this, a program will load at start up of your PC and fasten the launch of adobe acrobat

1. goto the install folder of the adobe. in my system it is "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Acrobat"

2. now create a folder "bkpPlugins".

3. Now double click the folder "plug_ins" and go inside it. select all the files and cut them using Ctrl + X and come out of that folder.

4. now go in the folder "bkpPlugins" which you had created in step 2

5. paste all the files using Ctrl + V which you had cut in step 3.

Now see your adobe is opening fast,

One more setting you can do, In Adobe click edit menu and go in preferences, go to updates in left panel and make the updates manual.

If facing any problem then move all the files form "bkpPlugins" folder to "plug_ins" folder.

I hope your problem will solve.
