Okay, the following situation is hypothetical: Your ex-husband wrecked his truck, your 3 year old child was in the vehicle with him. He had not placed the child in a car seat and both were killed. He was embalmed, at the viewing you take a large knife and proceed to stab him wildly. Can you face criminal charges?? He is after all DEAD....

It is against the law to desecrate a corpse. It's an A misdemeanor, and you can go to jail for it up to 1 yr.

I think there is a crime called something like damaging, abusing or defacing a corpse.
