I got a bad cut that probably needed stitches. I was using hydrogen peroxide, alcohol, and neosporin. At first it was leaking some mustard yellow substance. Now it looks like it's healing, but I have a rash around the cut. Is this a symptom of something serious or could i just be allergic to neosporin or something? Please help i am scared.

It is most likely infected and you need antibiotics. Hydrogen peroxide and alcohol kill infection, but they also kill cells that help heal wounds too. If the wound was deep enough to require stitches (it was gaping or ragged) most likely there was dirt deep in the wound that is still there. A 'rash" around the site could be the beginnings of blood poisoning and you should have it checked out.

the ''rash'' is probably an infection. You need medical help ASAP. Alchohol should never be used to treat an open wound, as it will kill the surrounding skin tissue. Hydrogen Peroxide should never be used on deep cuts.

I would highly recommend that you go see your doctor to have the wound and rash examined. They may have you referred to a wound care doctor and or they may treat you themselves.

Here is a link about wound care treatment in case that is what your doctor prescribes: http://firstaid.webmd.com/wound_care_treatment_firstaid.htm

My dear IT IS infected and the infection is spreading. You need to get to the doctor and get antibiotics before it turns into blood poison and you die.
