My life would be empty without others but I am not addicted or intoxicated by them. If you think people exist only for your personal pleasure than yes it is like a drug and you are being self-centered. You will feel better if you have mutual relationships based on real feelings and respect and concern for others. Then your existance will not be empty.

They certainly can be, and such TIME WASTERS as well!! Interaction with others produces an energy which is shared by those participating even if nothing is being gained from the sharing of one another's company. We become addicted to this stimuli. Time spent on ones own spent in useful meditation can reveal many useful truths to you. But the energy is missing. It can be hard at times, without that energy in ones life. But there are ways around this. Right thinking leads to right speech leads to right actions. Right actions, work etc produces it's own energy when one is working in harmony with God. Doing good in other words. Something useful and of value to all life. all creation.
Stand back from the world and the practices of the majority and watch. You will learn far more to benefit yourself and therefore everyone else if you spend your time doing this instead.
Just put yourself in GOD'S shoes a little. It's amazing what you will see and learn and know.

My heart is very sorry for you. Jesus is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Have you ever tried Him? All you have to do is call upon the Lord and thou shall be saved. Say, Jesus if you are real let me feel you right now come into my heart.
