what a wonderful world it would be if everybody thought like you. its just sad it will never happen. not in our lifetime anyway. i truly believe we dont just die and that is it.. we are ruled too much by governments that have the last say in all our lives. ourselves, our children and families, i worry about how we will all cope. so much violence, very lenient sentences, no lessons taught there, is there ? bring back the sixties i say, lovely fun time, no wars, just peace, and flowers. so what if alot of people were on happy pills, everyone enjoyed theirselves. if i had a choice i'd go back in time not forward

We are not all mindless ;)
I happen to think it important to study and creatively think about life, death and the universe.
Is religion to blame for war?
Just fewer than 20% of wars throughout history have been caused by various religions (unexcusably high). It is a common misconception that ‘most war’ is caused by religion. ALL wars are caused by greed.
People aren’t thick, we just act thick sometimes. Love and peace won’t work with us (the human race), due to one fatal flaw – greed. Most of our problems originate from greed; greed for power (religion, political, corporate), greed for wealth, greed for sex, greed for land, greed for recognition, greed for blood. And before we say to ourselves “This world is full of greedy idiots!”, it is important to recognise that we are all a part of it.
Is being religious a good thing?
Religion is the cause of a lot of problems in the world, but the vast majority of us don’t even know what religion is. How do we define the word ‘religion’? It is supernatural, political or science-based? Religion simply means ‘To read through’ or to 'Dedicate yourself' to. What do you read through or dedicate yourself to? We are all religious in one way or another.
In the past Christians, Muslims, Jews and various other God/s centred religions have been used to front war and oppression. In the last two centuries however, humanistic beliefs such as ‘survival of the fittest’ and communism have caused the vast majority of disharmony. To point the finger at religion is a tricky thing to do, as by default, we all follow one religion or another, whether we know it or not.
Christianity is half religion, and half faith. Without faith, religion takes over the whole and its participants became vision-less and ignorant. Faith puts the human understanding into the mechanism, in just the same way our ‘self’ (spirit if you wish) resides in an organic machine that we call our body.
2 Corinthians 3, v3
'You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.’
What would a letter from Christ look like? Would it be full of hate and anger? Would it harshly judge you for not going to church? Would it condemn you for chasing after other gods? The answer is quite simply 'No'. The only people Jesus ever criticized were the over-religious leaders. He demonstrated love, respect and over whelming compassion to the harsh, oppressive Roman invaders. He showed respect and even intellectualised with women – the second-class citizens of his day. He admired and endorsed the innocence of childhood. Nobody can really intelligently criticise him.
Isaiah 53, v9
'He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in his mouth.'
Thankfully, in the past decade or so, many churches throughout the world have woken up to this and are shaking of the over dependence on religious doctrine and are starting to live more by faith. The power behind faith, is love.

You are right, to love and be truthful to yourself, God and other people are all that is required.
Religions are just guidlines thats all, interpret them as you will. You can be 1000 times more religious than a churchgoer without ever visiting a church.
A famous spirit guide called Silver Birch once said:
"There are many pathways leading to the kingdom of God, it is for the individual to choose which one is the most comfortable for them to travel on".

lol....universal love and peace apparently can create wars according to some people......sad, just sad, that someone could be so, to say it harshly, idiotic.
Anyway...I like your love and peace religion idea...too bad it probably would never work out.
Oh...just went and read your other question...the person was talking about your harsh attitude...not the universal love and peace part....so um...just nevermind my entire answer.

The three largest religions in their purest forms should create peace, but they have always been warped around the twisted minds of their followers so this won't happen.

All religions are based around hate and biggotry.
People kill and destroy over religion, most 'believers' are mindless sh it for brains that need a handbook to know how to think and live their lives.
