probably because people have claimed to see ghosts and then they tell people and become into stories and poeple believe them!weird huh?

Because of human nature, imagination, guilt, thirst for mystery and horror, fantasy and curiosity.
Because we wonder where we go after death.
Because of stories abundant and available.
Because it is lucrative, exciting, scary and thrilling.
