no, but i do smell my finger after i put it in strangers' ears...
why, is that not normal?...

Who would remember such a trivial thing - that is of no importance whatsoever.
Brains are like a hard disk - you better store really important information on there instead of such nonsense.
Who cares?? We all go to the toilet - which sometimes smells very bad. some people even go to discothekes that smell horribly like stale beer and afterwards you can smell them for miles.

Actually, we use our eyes and nose MANY TIMES!
If after smelling your finger after picking your ear that it smells "different", would often mean something MAY be wrong (like infection).
We often look at our BLOWINGS after blowing our nose, because if we see that the mucous is off-color, it could mean a cold or infection has set in.
This is just a form of survival instinct that many of us had forgotten about.
