Put salt on it, it actually will sting, but after that is done (which takes like 5 seconds) the pain will go away. The salt helps dry the ulser.

It's a virus and there is no "cure". Some things like sun exposure, alcohol, stress and caffeine are blamed for bringing the ulcer out. Only a DR can culture the ulcer and determine what it is. HSV I Herpes Simplex Virus I is so common most Dr's don't bother testing or even treating. In the Vitamin section there is L-Lysine that is said to help. From the DR there is oral Valtrex and acyclovir. Everyone responds differently to each medication. For the medication to be effective it must be taken as soon as the ulcer is noticed to be most effective.

Yeah what he said.

Also, leave the ulcer alone. Don't keep feelin it with your tongue. It'll just go away. Gargle with warm and salty water. It really helps.

Ask your doctor to write you a prescription for Triamcinolone Acetonide Dental Paste. Then put that on top of the sore before going to sleep. A couple of nights and it should be gone.

They will go away after awhile. I believe that Vitamin C is the best way to prevent them.
