Define necessary. It is certainly not physically necessary. However, and seriously, I wouldn't marry someone that I didn't sleep with first. It would be a necessary requirement. That's me - not you and theres a pretty good chance that shouldn't be you. Doesn't make either of us wrong - just different. I don't know about your partner.

I am glad you ask that question, and very pleased to see that more people said no, and more and more people respect "no" and for the right reasons,

but if you are in a "live-in" relationship, what the heck are you doing,? That seems unfair, maybe it is financially convienent, but you are welcome to live with any room mate that you want however, why make problems, can't he wait until you are married first before you "LIVE IN" i almost, i said almost think that if you are under the same roof , you may as well do the "wild thing"

REALLY, i do not mean it though, i am kidding, i think you should pray about it together, if you share the love of GOD, AND he will lead you where you should be

It isnt necessary to have sex in a de-facto relationship but a lot depends on who does and who doesnt want to have sex. The partner who doesnt needs to explain to the other why they do not want to have sex yet. There is nothing wrong with wanting to remain celebate untill you are sure you are with the right person.

DEFINITELY NOT necessary. IDK what happened to the apparently infamous rule 'No sex before marriage'. People just don't seem to realize sex is supposed to be a GIFT from God, but everyone be doin it even in da damn corners of the street now, and ruined what made it so special-- sex was SUPPOSED to be the next step when two people who are truly in love & COMMITTED to each other, to finally become one, but the way things are today, if that were the case, the whole damn WORLD would be one.

Sex is just sex. But the more you wait the more the passion builds for the unexplained. The imagination runs wild. Then when you finally get married its not just sex. Then it is love and will always stay love as long you keep. the relationship on its toes. Exciting. It also more pleasing to god.
