READ: Its titled "Calling All Self Rightous" not calling all Christans. If you respond to this name as an insult you are admitting you're self-rightous-way to go.

You are just as self-righteous. Now shut the hell up.

Edit: By the way, this is a very intelligent question! Thought-provoking! Well done! I feel just like I felt after I read Harry Potter!

All of us, both Christians and atheists alike, feel the need to express our distaste in one another. As an atheist, I have gone up on my soap box a number of times --- and i regret it. I know that I've offended people, that i did it on purpose, and that is wrong. Christians do it to, but atheists do it just as much. I am ashamed at myself for some of the compulsive answers I've given. I just wish that we could accept each others beliefs, or lack there of. But it will never happen. Until then, maybe we should just avoid the religion/spirituality section.

I agree with dddead_alive,he gives you a very good reason christians try to tell others about what God has done for them. If you're happy about receiving a wonderful gift, you usually tell someone about it. Thats how christians feel about their salvation, and they want
to see others receive it too. He's also right about some people don't want to hear the truth no matter what. They
don't really comphrehend whats in store for them when they die.True christians witness in love, and are not self-
righteous.

Christians follow Christ and are on a different standard than the rest... Christians are forgiven... and that out of their love for people... want others to be with them in Heaven. Unfortunately, many people don't want to change and choose to go to hell instead. Christianity is not a defensive faith... it is an offensive one and aims to take the principalities and fortresses of Satan by storm. Those who are blinded to evil can not see that and do not understand what is at stake in their lives. Unfortunately, many people do not teach others in the gentleness and kindness that is instructed in the Bible... they accuse and judge others without taking the time to find out how to respond to skeptics instead of getting angry and upset. We are to give a reasonable answer to all who ask.

You know what, everyone is unique but it's quite unfair to generalize. What I mean is this. Your encounter with some Christians has left you with a bad taste but I have to tell you, if you really want to seek the truth, carry on and find it out for yourself, don't let one or two bad examples stop you.

Tolerance people. Not one needs convincing. All will reach perfection in time. Console the ones who seek, and love you fellow humans. This life is not the beginning nor is it the end. All are loved equally by God, and all are afforded the mistakes, they make in their evolutional progress.

The bible says there is no one good. And our best is as filthy rags so therefore I do not call myself good. But God called me righteous, through what He (Jesus) has done for me. Why do people think that if you are a christian you consider yourself better, I consider myself lucky for having a savior who has saved me and loves me despite my human faults.

And they always have to quote their lame little anthology ("bible," as they call it), even when the subject matter doesn't warrant it.
