You need to get your hair trimmed to remove the old split ends. I have added information on how to avoid split ends as well~

~Over brushing will cause split ends and exaggerated backcombing will also make the hair split since it is disturbing the cuticle.

~Brushing hair when it is still wet is one of the most important causes for split ends because wet hair stretches by as much as 25%.

~Coloring and perms make hair weak and vulnerable for split ends. This type of hair needs extra care and should be treated with the appropiate products. Use a lot of conditioner and comb your hair through before rinsing it out.

~Heated appliances can make hair become dry and finally it splits. Try to avoid using heated hair appliances as much as possible! If you are using them anyway, make sure to protect your precious locks with a potective product.

~Towel drying is not good if you want to avoid splitting hair. You should blot your hair and then carefully comb it through with a wide toothed comb. Avoid using a hair dryer as much as possible since the heat won't do any good to your hair.

~Elastic bands and all sorts of other hair accessories can damage your hair. Avoid using uncovered elastic bands since these often pull out hair when being removed. Other accessories will damage or weaken the ends of the hair.

~And last but not least: Your health will affect your hair.
If you have a dry scalp your hair will split faster because there is not enough lubrication on the hair follicle. Dull hair caused by a low fat diet will also be more vulnerable.

Hope this helps~

If you have split ends, it is best not to dye your hair until you cut the damage off, else you end up destroying it even more.

Anti-dandruff shampoo tends to moisturize hair, as dandruff is the result of dry scalp. Also, volcanic ash (mud) works wonders on damaged hair. You can find it at Sally's Beauty Supply (near the hot oil treatments) for about $8.00 a bottle. A bottle lasts quite a while.

You just need to start keeping better care of it. Get it trimmed to get rid of all of the split ends cos if you dont your hair will never look good. Once you have them trimmed out your hair will look better already.
Also darker hair is shinier so dying it black will no doubt give your hair a shininess and make it feel a lot softer.
Dandruff is simple just use a good shampoo or get one from your doctor - but most importantly - get your hair trimmed!!!!

Good luck - and dont worry about it too much, the split ends are only obvious to you!

Try Keunes products for split ends.It does`t grease your hair and it smells very nice. Results are seen immediately.I buy their ampoules for split ends because that`s the only thing that works for me.See if you can find that.Good luck.

Start with a haircut and some good shampoo...none of that over the counter crap, though. See a beautician for something that will work well for your hair.
