No... There is not need for U to go back to England... Provided that your passports do not expire within six months. U can renewal your VISA in Taipei...

no..you don't need to go back to England.
You can renew it in Taiwan... go to your nearest embassy if you are citizen of that country and ask for renewal of your passport... or ask for requirements .
all the records in your old passport would be ammended to the new one...

well I live in a different country and I renewed my passport.
go to the place where you get the passport forms, and give it to them, plus money for postage
