Why are people hoarders. I like to throw stuff away.?

I'm guilty :(
I seem to have a problem with discarding things that are usable.I have a large family and so I tend to hold on to things just in case we could use it in the future. The thing is that I really hate all this stuff being packed up and cluttering the basement and extra rooms but It is virtually impossible for me to bring myself to throw things out or donate them to a goodwill. I wish that I could !! I'd have so much free space.
So my answer/opinion is that it's almost like an addiction. Sadly to say.

don't know why, I keep a lot of things, and throw a lot out,
it just depends on what may be worth keeping, to me when I keep a lot of stuff its because I think I may use it some day, and sometime I do and some times I don't

they say its because somewhere in their lives before, they were deprived of something..so now that they are capable of buying things, they keep all of the things that they have bought throughout the years.. thats when they need to go to those self help shows that shows them how to organize their houses

People tend to cling. Avoid the hassel and shove it in the garage or closet. "Maybe we'll need that later"

I have spending money on something I just threw out last week.

sonme can not bring them selves to part with anything that might come in handy sometime like you never know when you might need baby boots again

Everybody's different. I don't keep much either. If it isn't needed it's going in the trash.
