I'm not sure from Hawaii to Texas; but from Texas to the Islands, it'll be like this. Depending on what part of Texas you are starting from. I'll assume from the east, near Louisiana. It will take you about 3 days to get to San Diego on US 10. The major delay will be the Trans-Pacific Tunnel from San Diego to Honolulu. There will be about a one to two hour wait just getting into the tunnel, then the drive from San Diego to Honolulu is a killer. The toll for a regular passenger car is $65.00. It takes about another three or four days of driving, depending on traffic. I suggest bringing your own food for three to four days, because all you will be able to get to eat in the tunnel is Jack-In-The Box, Pizza Hut, etc. at inflated prices. If you plan on staying at a hotel, I suggest the Holiday Inn Tunnel Express. People will think you are not to bright for travelling in the tunnel, but you can tell them, "I stayed at a Holiday Inn Tunnel Express". Gas will cost about $2.00 more a gallon, right now it's about $5.23 a gallon for regular unleaded. There is a rumor that when the Pan-Oceanic bridge to Maui is completed the prices for gas, food, lodging, etc. will come back to a normal level.

Not very long, you'll drown before you ever get to Hawaii, unless Hawaii is also a name of a supermarket, then it's only 30 hours.

I'll have a little fun with this one and treat this as a serious question. :)
1) A nonstop drive to Long Beach, CA will take you:
- approximately 11 hours from El Paso
- approximately 15 hours from Amarillo
- approximately 21 hours from Dallas
- approximately 20 hours from Austin
- approximately 22 hours from Houston
- approximately 23 hours from Brownsville
- approximately 24 hours from Orange
- approximately 25.5 hours from Texarkana
2) It'll take you approximately 7 days to ship your car Long Beach to Honolulu Hawai`i
So, assuming 11-25.5 hours to drive nonstop from Long Beach to Texas and 7 days to ship the car to Honolulu; you're looking at a total travel time of approximately 7.5-8 days for your car.
Since you can't accompany your car while it's being shipped, your actual travel time would be 16.5-31 hours (assuming you drive your car to Long Beach and a nonstop flight of +/-5.5 hours between LAX and HNL).

Shouldn't take but half a day of steady driving.....but you need to ask yourself a couple of questions first:
1. how long can you hold your breath?
2. will your car run under water?
3. How large is your gas tank? There ain't no fillups along the way.

Shoudn't take too long. Call me before you go; I'll lend you my fire knife. The bright flames will light up the ocean floor at night time when it gets too dark to see the road!
