I want to get a card that can just be "scanned" when I get on a bus or the train. I live in Bucheon City/JungDong area. Thanks!

You can buy them in the subway stations, either from a little machine (not the main ticketing machine, but the recharging machine).. or from the man in the office. Just ask for 'Kyo tong card'. You can also buy them in selected convenience stores, and some stationary stores, you might be able to see a small sign in the window that says '교통 가드' which is 'Kyo tong card.'

Most cities have two options 2,000won for a card version (which doesnt come with 2,000 prepaid) or a 7,000won cellphone accessory version.

Most family marts have them, or at least re-charge them.

At the train station, there should be a machine that sells cards to ride the bus/train.

most convenience stores have them. i saw some at 7-eleven and by the way. you dont really have to go to subway stations just to get one. it gets refilled at the store, too.

mine is calle T-MONEY. but there are other cards available, too.

these days they come in little 1x2in cellphone accesories.

hope this helps.
