Most Christians feel that they have finally found the "pot of gold" and by telling others of it, they are merely showing their love and concern for fellow humankind. If I tell you the wonderful things, and you don't want part of it, that is your free will. But if you do want it, cool! Either way, I have done my part.

If we were to tell them about a abandoned gold mine I don't think they would be offended or say we're pushing our information down their throats.I think it all has to do with pride .They don't want to hear about God and are doing their best to avoid him so when we come up and all excited wanting them to experience the same great thing we feel. they accuse us of being "insensitive"

People feel that some christians are shoving things down their throat because some christians claim that if believers of other religions or atheists do not completely agree and comply with what the christian is saying then they are going to hell. People have the right to believe in whatever they want to believe. There is no proof that what those extreme christians believe is true. There is nothing wrong with them telling others of what they believe, but they should be respectful and not get angry or hateful if some people do not believe the same thing. Live and let live!

Most Christians believe that they don't shove their beliefs down others throats, but think of it this way. If everywhere you turned there was a Pagan Temple with a board out front saying something to try to convert you to Paganism, or there was Witchcraft pamphlets in the waiting room of the hospital that you're visiting, or Muslim Missionaries that went door to door to try and convert you to Islam. All these religions are free to do so, but none of them do it. Why? Most people of other faiths respect that many people may not want to hear what they have to say, and may take it as an insult to their own beliefs. So the answer, Christians DO cram "The Word" down the throats of others. You're free to do so, but I should also be free to hand out Satanic literature outside the supermarket, not that I would, but under your logic, I should have just as much right to do that as you do to hand out Christian literature.

The commission was to tell the Good News to all people, first in Jerusalem, then in Judea, then in Samaria and to the utmost parts of the world. No where in the Bible, did someone hear of shoving the Gospel down the throats, those who heard and wanted to repent, repented, those who were touched and convicted of their sins repented and changed. Love is the simple part of spreading the good news, u do not have to suffer for all of the pain you are going through, besides God has a divine plan for everyone and it is not in His will that someone should perish, therefore just as mouth pieces, time and time again, God sends some person to an individual's life to reinforce His Love for that person.
How abt a dad who keeps sending people or goes to his runaway son just to let him know that he loves him and wants him home - for all the parents, would not tat be something u would do? Think abt it and think abt God and his Love for us.

It's kinda like when an old lady is sitting on a park bench and a total stranger comes along and says 'Hey, I just found this bag of money and I want to share it with you....'

Seriously, if you've found all this 'gold' why not just keep it for yourself. If I ASK you about all the 'wonderful things' that is an invitation to tell me. If I don't ask, it's because I'm not interested. If you tell me anyway, then honey, that's shoving it down my throat.

Drug dealers also like to share what they have with as many people as they can. What makes you any different from them? In my opinion, nothing.

Because you come across as arrogant snobs who think you're the only ones living the right way. Everyone else is doomed but you and those who believe like you. If they didnt ask, they do not want to hear your theories, cause after all, at the end of the day, thats all your beliefs are, theory. When I think of Christians, I think of hypocrites, bigots, self righteous, small minded people grasping at something, anything to believe in. I'm glad you've found your "pot of gold", and its none of your business where I keep my "pot of gold" stashed. Why do Christians always ask, "why doesnt everyone believe like me?", why cant you just accept that people are different and believe differently and leave the rest of us alone? I know, you get bonus points at judgement day for every person you convert.

Well first of all, most people in America know what Christianity is about. And if I wanted to be a Christian, I would go to church. There are churches in every town, so there's no shortage of resources.

Christianity is the majority religion in the United States. Everyone knows what it is. So when bible-thumpers won't shut up about it, it gets a bit annoying.

At the university I attended, we had "Reverend Jim." His traveling circus of holy rollers set up shop in the plaza, handing out bibles. Now, of itself, that's just fine. Spread the word, brother.

But Reverend Jim's act included shouting judgments at all passersby who even remotely looked like they might not pass his standards. I don't know about you, but that's more "shoving down their throats" than "showing love and concern for fellow humankind."

If you want to run a prayer group, lead a peer group, even put a bumper sticker on your car, "Voya con quesso, mi amiga." But as my bumper sticker says: "If it's disturbing the peace, you're overdoing it."

Because they don't want to hear it. They are not interested. And in those cases Christians are shoving it down their throats.

None come save the Father draws him nigh. God wants some, and draws them to Him. All the others can go to Hell. lol

It doesn't say that you should stop preaching though!

It would of coarse depend on the situation. But, anyone born and raised in the united states should be generally familiar with what Christianity is. There is absolutely no need for them to act like we've never heard about it or never considered the belief system.

People don't want to be shown the light. Plain and simple. Anything outside of their comfort zone make them feel uneasy and threatened. But we still have a responsibility and calling to share with them anyway. They can reject it, and that's fine. We move on. But it is our responsibility to share. If not, we're denying people the greatest gift life has to offer. Enlightenment isn't for everybody. Don't forget that Jesus was killed for preaching love and brotherhood. Can't get a much more negative reaction to your message than that.
