America is immigrants.
From the european sailors in 1492 to the latinos of 2006.
These people are trying to get a new start, improving their future.
People are just pissed off because the jobs that they take for granted are the jobs illegals are (literally) dying to obtain.
Added to which illegals, motivated by earning what they never expected to have, are a LOT more efficient and hardworking than legal residents and even "all-american" workers.
This law is a "civil" approach to the reformation of racism and classism America so pretends to be against in country-forming documents and 4th of July barbecues.
Unless international war reaches us first, I believe civil war is upon us.

Why not. It will hopefully end the corporate choke hold on some of our elected officials. I like that voting season is amongst us until 2008. Opposition for or against illegal immigration, it will be an interesting year for all of us.

That should happen everywhere.
Bush says we can't deport illegals, of course lying is a way of life for him. It can be done, it just requires some effort and he just doesn't want to. It seems that Lou Barletta is proving him wrong.
Illegals go home!

i imagine, like countless different state regulation that has tried this, it will be declared invalid. Congress has legislatively preempted any rules handling immigration subject matters. lower than Congressional mandate, states and cities at the prompt are not allowed to implement immigration rules. So, perhaps the answer's fixing Congress, so the states can take action.

I agree with them and applaud it. Remember your key word....illegal. That should be enough. I hope my city does the same thing. The elected officials in that city has done what they swore to do, obey the laws of the US, in accordance with their oath of office.

I hadn't heard that, but I think it's a good solution. I support immigration but not illegally.

That's ridiculous....This is suppose to be a free country....Why would the govt. dictate who I can rent too? As long as I don't discriminate, what is it their business. He sounds like a racist to me....Next they will tell me I can't drive a red car....gees
