Put the bug bite under very hot (120 degrees) running water, being careful not to scald yourself, for ten minutes, or apply a very hot washcloth. This should relieve the itching for several hours. As soon as possible, buy an over the counter benedryl lotion. The bug bite shouldn't be itching this long, so you may be having an allergic response.

2 weeks seems like a long time to still have a bug bite itching -- are you sure it hasn't turned into impetigo(infection)? you might need to get some antibiotic cream for it. If not one thing i have done for my kids is I clean with alcohol and put clean fingernail polish on it. (it will help dry up any puss or poison under your skin plus the polish will help keep bacteria away from it) (this has always worked great for those nasty chigger bites)
Some "bug bites" can be were a bug gets in your skin. If something did get under your skin then the finger nail polish will kill it (you have to put a couple of coats of polish on it including some area not only on the bite but around it also). Hope your itch goes away soon

Stop touching or rubbing it with your hands. Take a piece of cloth or cotton and dip it in cold water and apply it over the area. Do that until the itch goes away and only when it strats to itch. If the area is swollen, (from experience) use cotton or soft cloth dip it in really hot water that you can stand it and apply it to the area until the pain atarts to over come the each. Do that for 20 minutes and 4 to 5 times a day. The best time is when you get up and before you go to sleep. This sounds contradicting, but the cold water one is done when it itches, but I have found out to that when it does itch is to apply hot damped cloth to it. Experiment with it.

Caladryl lotion(calamine & benadryl), Hydrocortisone(external use only: lotion, creme). Benadryl(oral suspension, caplets) *Make sure you are not allergic to Benadryl, always read the directions) Drink lots of water, or drinks consisting, mostly of water. Hydration helps the body rid itself of pollutants, faster. Process of dilution is effective. Study the bite mark: is there pus, is the site getting better or worse? Study the area in which you live, so that you will know what kind of lions, tigers & bears there are. Oh My! Hope this helps. Have a great day! CM

A group of my friends and I came back from Yosemite covered in mosquito bites; I know how you feel. The cortisone didn't work as well as Gold Bond anti-itch cream did. By now they should start to fade on their own, though. Even ice helps.

Be sure they are not infected. Try benadryl cream to the bites, then benadryl 25 to 50 mg. at night. It will make you sleepy, so don't take it during the day unless you are going to be able to stay home & veg out all day.

Pick up some aloe vera gel. The stuff works wonders for me and its inexpensive. Places like GNC sell it. Or other health stores or whatever.

Rub deodorant on them. I know that works for mosquito bites.
