I'm not really scared to much of dying in general but dying to early. I cry all the time when I watch the news and then have so many sleepless nights because I'm scared somebody is going to kill me in my sleep or someone is going to bomb my house. I'm only just starting High school and I'm scared because I can't picture myself in the future and if i'm not in the future then I must be dead. I want to die when I older, don't get me wrong, I don't want to live forever but I want to live my life. How can I get over this fear?

Why worry about it? This borders on being a phobia. Death is death is death; young or old or in between, we all die. Some people say that having a morbid fear of death at a certain age is due to past-life junk; perhaps you are at an age now where you died in this manner in another life (if you believe in reincarnation, which I do) Whenever I die, I will look forward to it; I know there is a much better world beyond. You might consider a talisman: buy a piece of jewelry with either citrine or black tourmaline in it. Both gems repel all things negative; but the citrine is stronger. It will help you with both your own feelings of dread; and also anything negative that tries to come in contact with you.

Peace, sister.

Human nature involves a mindset of living everyday life like without fearing death or questioning it way too often.

Anxiety disorders or obsessive thoughts about such fear affect us to just live our everyday life.

For teenagers I believe there's a passage where you question life, death, God, religion etc.

The scenarios you create in your mind and not being able to picture yourself in the future are things I experienced too. But
I have a panic attack disorder.

Seeing a psychiatrist and telling about your problems is the best thing since this affects your everyday life for a while.

No worries, you're not losing your mind it's probably due to just some chemical imbalance. Your worries seem typical but again I'm not a professional.

Good luck :)

Your fears stem from insecurity.

At your age insecurity is normal....You seemed a bit preoccupied with death....Did you have a recent death in the family? Or perhaps a friend died?

If you can get to the root of your fear, you can better understand it and therefore conquer it....Sometimes confronting the fear and exploring it will help you over come....Just accepting that death is a natural part of life and no matter how much you worry about it, it wont change. When it is your time to go, it is your time....

I don't fear death for myself, I fear death for my loved ones. I know thats selfish, I want them to be with me forever. I have had a death of a close family member and I have fears with losing my loved ones....

But then I realize it is out of my hands and in God's hands, then I accept what ever God has for me, that makes life so much easier. One last thing, perhaps you have a condition called obessive complusive behavior, there are medication to help you control the obsessive thoughts, it sounds like they are really affecting your life....Hope this helps

We all are aware that we will die once.
You have to accept that as a fact.
This is the only thing in life which is absolutely sure.
You never 'go' too early. My friend always said: "When you are knocked on your shoulder, it's your time and you have to accept that."

A psychologue and a shrink can help you as well.
The cheapest way against fear: find company that make you happy. That distract you.
Very effective is: do not read, listen nor look at the news. We really get too much horror in our house from external sources.

Well, since I don't believe in God, I can't tell you that you will go to heaven. I feel better by thinking that I'm part of the circle of life. If I don't die, then someone else can't live. If we lived forever then we wouldn't be letting others be born. Unless that the world becomes amazingly overpopulated. Also, there is only like a .05% chance that anything will happen to you.

perhaps you should seek help from a counselor/therapist/psychiatrist that deals with this type of phobia.

i can tell you though, that growing up, i never could imagine myself after the age of 17. if anyone asked me what i saw myself doing after high school, i had no clue since i could not see myself existing beyond 17. we had to do a eulogy for english class once on ourselves, and i think i died young since i too could not imagine myself beyond the age of 17. and for a while, i still could not picture myself existing in the future even after i had made it to age 17

i guess what i'm trying to say is... even though you can't imagine your life beyond high school, odds are, you're going to live well beyond high school, as i have. not that i'm old, but seeing as how i could not imagine myself beyond age 17, i've managed to make it to 25 so far and while i may not be able to imagine where i'll be in however many years, hopefully i'll manage to make it at least 50 more years.

do not death for death does not fear you.

Go to a hospital or nursing home, look at someone young with some degenerate disease like MS, Parkinsons Disease, or cancer and realize some things are worse than dying, and dying quickly is better than dying slow, then be thankful you are still healthy and do whatever you want while you still are.

either talk to somebody that you trust , friends , parents, or even strangers that will not pass judgement. high school is hard, but make sure you find the right kind of ppl. that you feel comfortable around and speak w/ them. you have everything in the world and your whole life in front of you . even though you could go anyday now, accept God into your life and you will find full fillment. good luck to you kiddo. sleep well. you will be in my prayers. i hope that you find your answer.

you can get over your fear of death by thinking about LIFE!
you can never know when you are dead. you may live up to 110 or up to 30. I cannot tell you how long you will live, you cannot tell that about yourself, so why bother about it?
good luck and think about living life to the fullest. that would be the smartest action ;)

Just accept that death is a part of life and don't think about dying, because none of us know when and how we will die. It's just happened
