My namesake is the USS REMEY DD688, WWII, Pacific fleet. Anyone out there who has a similar name? Or similar story?

you all are so goofy. I was named after the ship. The ship was not named after me. gees! For the young girl who thinks I'm a cute boy, sorry. I'm a woman. Did anyone bother to check my profile? Could I have a few serious answers? A couple of you had cute stories.

Have you heard of the US-NS Buckner ? The Buckner was a WWII Troop Transport Ship and it remained in service until 1973 when it was decomissioned.
Anyway my name is Buckwheat and I think I was named after that ship. I am not sure, because I was left in a potato sack in the beer cooler of the 7/11 store with a piece of paper pinned on it with my birth date and the name Buckwheat !

Hi remey 1...(i like to drink you...)
That's so neat that they named a boat after you!
I hope it will happen to me some day...I mean the naming a boat thingy, you naughty boy!
But what kind of a ship would be called the
"USS whoopswhatever"? And what kind of sailor-boys would they put on her? They would really need a, shh - "don't ask, don't tell" policy to staff that kind of boat wouldn't they!
Okay that was fun.
Pleez pick my answer as the best one. u r cute!

Well, my sibs used to tell me that I was named after the car in which I was conceived.

My ma and pa never liked me cause I reminded them too much of each other.

I never much cared for family...... :-)
