Actually, the story about the 5 year old giving birth is true, but is a truly astounding and unusual event. The girls name was Lina Medina and she lived in Peru, and gave birth in 1939. Even more astounding, the child was healthy and survived and lived until he was 40 years of age.
There was recently another story in the news about a 9 year old girl giving birth. She came from Brazil.
In both cases, the girls began menstruating at very young ages.

i got pregnant the first time when i was 15. it was the scariest experience ever. i did give birth but i gave my child up for adoption. the family that adopted him couldn't have children of their own and waited for 12 years for someone to chose them. there was no way i was ready to raise a child at that age (i should have thought about that when i was having sex at that age too!).i feel really good about my decision knowing that my child will grow up with all the love and stability of a healthy family.
to all the young girls that are reading this right now, please think before you do something that could potentially create life. you have to be a child and a teen before you can become a healthy adult. take care :)

I had my daughter when i was 14. I am now 27. She is a very beautiful person. I love her soo much. It's hard to believe she is 12 already. I have always had custody of her. I finished school. I got a job, and took care of her. Bought my house when I was 23. I wouldn't change having her. I did learn my lesson though. I had my son last year and I am now married. It wasn't easy having her, but worth every second knowing i created her and took care of her.

yes many young girls have a baby even saddly before they are 12 depending when they get their periods. Why? are you pregnant? at such an early age?
as far as a 5 year old getting pregnant....that is such bullshit...people need to find information on here that is truthful!

well in some countries such as india i think u normally get your period at around 8-umm10 i dont remember and married at lets say 16 but they only live the longest to 40!! very strange!!

I think the youngest parents were 8 & 9 (not sure which was the mother) but they lived in china.
