~Rest in peace. The US has a monopoly on all long range delivery systems and since they are all patented and copywrited, nobody else can have them. That's why the US is the only nation to have ever dropped a nuke. And to think it was done with 1945 technology. Scuds fired from a container ship in NY harbor would do a fine job on Philly, Boston and DC. From off shore, any city on the west coast is equally vulnerable. It would take a little more to hit Souix City Iowa, but who wants to nuke dead cows and corn? We've spent 60 years teaching the world to live under our nuclear shadow. Get ready for some paybacks. The question isn't "if", it's "when". Anybody with a trans-oceanic or trans-continental plane and the makings of a bomb can pretty much pick their target, much like the US did in '45. Bio's are a lot more scarey. They spread geometrically from ground zero, and don't stop. Hey, wouldn't it be neat if somebody nuked CDC in Atlanta and turned the smallpox, Ebola and Anthrax they have stored there loose? With an appropriately enforced travel ban, the epidemics could be confined to the western hemisphere.

Of course they can. You can presume that if N Korea has the technology, Iran has it, too. We do have a missile defense system, though, so missiles probably shouldn't keep you up at night. There are plenty of other ways for the Iranians to get to us besides long-range missiles that will just get shot down in mid air.

I know this, If Iran were to do something like that(and I am sure they know this also) they would reach a temp of about 3000 degrees before their missiles ever hit us.
Once detected our Nuc Subs in the area would launch, also our Carriers in the gulf would mount a full air strike (armed with Nukes)against Iran.
I dont think Iran is that dumb, they would rather take us on like they and others are doing in Iraq right now.

Iran heavily isn't a nuclear danger to the U.S., even nonetheless it actually actually is a nuclear danger to different international locations in the community, extremely Israel. I additionally evaluate that if Iran had tactical, short-type nuclear weapons, it must be susceptible to utilize them in the direction of US and allied forces at recent working in Afghanistan and Iraq. For those components, the possession of an offensive nuclear capacity via way of Iran is a severe destabilizing element in the community. the different u . s . on the earth that has stepped forward nuclear technologies for non violent purposes (i.E., to produce electric powered energy) has allowed IAEA inspectors to envision their utility. Iran has now no longer. Why? What does it is going to hide if its application is carefully non violent? via fact of this it is this variety of considerable deal.

Yes, with the right technology, all they have to do is send it up to space, like with a shuttle of some sort, wait for the earth to revolve, and then shoot. I don't think Iran has the tech smarts for that yet, but, yes it could happen. Ron

My understanding, no. Not yet. We still have the best in terms of our ability to defend this country. We have the best minds, the best resouces and the best place to live a dream. Our best defense is a strong committed military, the best technology money can buy, and a great stratagy of peace and global economy. Our best offense is education.
