The shampoos work if used properly Bag all toys and small items airtight for 2 weeks.Hot water wash and hot dryer for clothing and bedding. Don't share brushes, combs, hair pins, berets, hats.,head bands, bandannas. Head lice don't pole vault to your head. Sit combs and brushes in boiling water or buy new ones. Remove all nits with the special comb that comes with a kit. You need someone to help you with this.Use the shampoo again as directed and buy 2 if 1 bottle isn't enough for your hair per application.. Good luck and really make a thorough effort. No one should have to suffer.Treat all siblings if needed. Get a prescription pediculocide if needed.Notify the school nurse of a possible epidemic.Your city's health department may be able to help you. It doesn't hurt to ask. Involve your family in the clean up process. Steam clean all carpets and upholstered furniture. You may be getting reinfected at home.

don't sit so close to the ones who have lice for one thing, never hang your coat up on a public rack, wash your bedding with the special soap as well, vacuum your carpets and bedding thoroughly several times weekly - and throw away the bag right away, use the shampoo TWICE - once when you get them and another time 7 - 10 days later as the eggs still hatch. More on the sites below.
Also some physicians are using oral therapies to deal with resistant lice, including the drug ivermetim (a one time dose) and the antibiotic Bactrim (3 day course).
Report the kids who have lice - the schools my children went to would not let a child attend school with lice, and had to be checked by the school nurse before coming back to school. I also was a daycare teacher for awhile and got them once - I was the one in charge of actually checking for lice if a child scratched his or her head more than usual - and I sent plenty of children home with instructions. My own children each got lice once, and it was a pain to fight as you have to be so thorough.
Good luck, and you will get rid of them if you do all the stuff on those sites.

along with everyone else's advice, you must remember that the lice can also inhabit your stuff, your bedding, your clothes. You may get rid of them just to get them again from clothing or bedding that was never sanitized. Sanitize your living spaces as well as your head. Some of the shampoos are better than others too so, try some shampoos with a different active ingredient, and be sure to wash very thoroughly several times if need be.

That shampoo called RID works but you have to pull out the eggs and dead bugs in your hair as well as take care of all of your bedding (by washing it in hot water w/soap) and steralize your hair brushes..The only way to prevent them is to stay away from mankind and that's hard to do. If you keep getting them from school, you need to let a staff memeber know so they can investigate and catch the person who's carrying them to you and help to end this problem. They like hair regarless if it's clean or dirty my friend. They are like static in your hair though and just washing them wont get rid of them. You have to pull them out physically or they'll never go away. Using stuff like Mayo will only condition your hair. Some will tell you that it suffocates the bugs. This is true but it does nothing to the eggs. They also make a aerosal spray that you can use on your bedding and floors, etc. Good luck!!!!!!!!

Can you get a prescription shampoo?
It seems possible that you keep getting them from school because someone keeps giving them to you. In that case, it is very hard to stop them from coming back.
After delousing yourself, you should wash your bedding instead of just hanging it outside. Lice cling. They need to be drowned in the washing machine.
Also, after using the shampoo, you need to use a very fine-toothed comb to get the nits off of you. These are eggs that cling very tightly to hair. If you get the living lice out but some of the nits stay, they will hatch and breed.
I would see a doctor if I were you.

Mayonnaise and a shower cap over night. Goop up the hair completely with Mayonnaise (the oil in it drowns/kills the lice) then put on a tight plastic shower cap and keep it on overnight. Wash the hair thoroughly in the morning and comb out with a nit comb.
Repeat in two weeks.
Wash all bedding and clothes with Hot water.
This is the only thing I found that works.

I've heard mayo works. Put a bunch of it on and cover it with a plastic bag for a couple of hours. Then go through it with one of the little nit combs really good paying close attention to the bottom of your neck in the back and around your ears.

lice is like a colony and stick strongly and deep within your hair.
tell me how without special shampoo / without shaving could help u get rid the lice?
is just like kill the lice with water right?.do u think it could get rid the lice?
is just impossible.
even special shampoo i think not strong enough to kill lice,if u wash your hair seldom
ask vetenerian what they do when they want to get rid of bugs at dog fur.
