it's nice to tip (& as a cosmetologist it's greatly appreciated). The amount you tip is usually depending on what you have done & your satisfactory level. If you really like what has been done than tip nicely & if you are kinda eh on the style then give a smaller tip. If your hair turns out really messed up then you'll probably not want to tip at all

I tip about five dollars, but then I only get my hair cut about twice a year (yes, I know, I know, it's bad and I should get my split ends trimmed more often...) People that get their hair cut very often may tip a little less-- it does all add up; or more, if they have a favorite stylist. On the subject of not liking the cut, you could probably tip less than you would have had you liked the cut a lot, but they still took their time to try and make you look nice. I would go with a tip.

I tip based on service and if your stylist owns her own shop then I tip minimally. $35 cut wash and style I'll give her $3 If I buy product then I don't tip at all because the mark up is SO high they are making enough. So I guess 10 percent I live in the south so it might be a little different here.

I always tip because I've been going to the same stylist for a few years now. Usually if I get my hair colored, cut, and styled I'll tip her about $30, if it's just a cut then I'll tip about $10-15.

If they didn't do yur hair right don't tip. I they did a good job tip them!!! But it also depends where you live how much yu paid and so fourth. I think like Fantastic Sam's you tip some salon or stylist that charges you 200 bucks. I guess you have the money to give them more. But don't know if people really tip them well, cause most people are cheap.

If you know the hair stylist for a while then you should tip her, more or less depending on your financial preferences. If you try a new one and she did not do the job as you expected then don't because you'll not coming back to her again. I normally tip more for a hair stylist who works for someone else but less if she works for herself (she takes home 100%, but other take home only 60%)

Tipping is really simple, but there still seem to be a lot of questions about it. There are two instances when you should NOT tip a service person. 1. When they own the establishment. and 2. When the service provided was not to your liking. If you don't tip for the 2nd reason, please don't return to that particular establishment. If you do, then you are just cheap.

never do something just because you think its the right thing to do. if you like the new do and the stylist was professional and personable i usually tip a buck or two for a 15 dollar haircut. it depends on how well you liked the whole experience.

This is to the last comment on this page. Cheap ***. The stylist does not get a high percentage of money from the product.
