You should form your own opinion based on how she has treated you, not by what others have said their experience has been, and always remember there are three (3) sides to every story, yours, the other person's and the truth. And if she IS the way everyone says, there is probably a really good reason for it. You've known her all your life, so at least she has been in the picture. Initiate a conversation with her when it's just the two of you, no, don't ask her why she is any of the things you listed here, say something like "Auntie, you seem to be so stressed a lot of the time, what's wrong?" Just by virtue of the fact that you have expressed an interest in her may make a difference in her attitude. Best Wishes.

You have a right to like or dislike anyone you want.
And I must say that I wouldn't purposely cause conflict, but if she's ever dumb enough to ask why, I'd be smart enough to tell her. If you don't like her, you won't care if she never speaks to you again anyway, right???
Maybe she'll get a clue & stop being a pain.

Sever ties with her. Write her an e-mail and tell her off. Nasty relatives need not be tolerated. Just like friends who outlive their niceness or lovingness, they need to be dumped. Even siblings who are bringing you more trouble than love need to be cut off from your life.

i had an aunt i called "sarge" because she was so bossy in situations that she had no business in. she also had all of the qualities you described above. i disliked her, and that is a pleasant way of saying how i felt about her. i don't think my feelings were wrong.
