Honda, Toyota, Acura.....it is really as much up to the driver as to the car. A heavy foot on the gas pedal will surely reduce fuel economy. Burning rubber from a dead stop will kill fuel economy. Driving up to a red light full bore will kill gas economy.
Driving at fast highway speeds will kill fuel economy. Try coasting from time to time. Easy on the accelerator. I have an on-board computer in my car and I checked fuel economy as I drove to Los Angeles. At 55 miles per hour I got 38 miles to the gallon with the air conditioner on. I went to 65 miles per hour and the fuel economy went down to 34 miles. I turned off the air and the fuel economy went up to 35.5 miles. The more you load the engine with speed and air, the lower the fuel economy.

Toyota and Honda and their hybrids- if you are looking to buy one, choose small cars with 4 cylinders. Plan your trips well, make sure your tires are properly inflated and if you can, find alternative ways of going from one place to the next like biking, walking or taking public transportation, then you can be helping your car have a good fuel economy.
