I have this list of qualities I value in a mate. I pretty much HAVENT stuck with it since Ive written it b/c i didnt want to rule out any guy who was a good guy though he smoked or drank... but so far... ive gotten jerks....
i just broke up with a guy who i thought was perf. and only a few qualities on my list applied to him...
should i stick to my list and see if i can find "the guy of my dreams" or try the normal dating route and see what happens..... need advice...
THINGS TO CONSIDER: the list has qualities such as:
-doest drink
-doesnt smoke
-loyal
-honest
-wouldnt mind going to see a chickflick every once in a while
-loves to dance
-has a good head on hius shoulder
- isnt too immature , a lil can be accepted
-makes me happy
-fun to be around
-respects me
-doesnt mind my bubbly personality, etc

Sweetie when looking for a mate there should be no list to reflect on...by doing this you limit yourself in finding someone. No one will be exactly what your looking for, but because we are human we can learn to adapt and process things. If a man can except you for you and you for him things will go so much smoother. I think there are really only 5 qualities you should really look for..1. Hygein..he gotta smell good. 2.Financial status...not sayin you gotta be a gold digger but he should at least beable to handle his own business and not tap into your funds. 3. Personality...gotta be good for visiting. 4.Self Esteem booster...sure he may smoke but does he make it not matter? Chemistry..sure he doesnt drink but do you wish he did so you could get along with him? 5. Romance...sure he cant dance but dose he make your heart leap?
I think these qualities should make you see exactly how imperfect we are but how we can adjust to imperfections because of other quailities out weighing others..dont be anxious....he will come but he'll be nothing like what you've dictated to your self as perfect.

Well, you admit that not sticking to your list hasn't worked for you.....so, you answered your own question. Don't be so eager to be with someone that you settle for anyone. Sometimes its nice to be alone. Your not going to find the "perfect" man, and when you do find someone special he will not have every quality of your "list". But you should have some that you stick to no matter what.......deal breakers, when crossed. You need to set your standards high......if you don't.....why would a man? You set the pace he will follow. Don't settle.........

There's no such thing as THE PERFECT MAN and that's what it sounds like your looking for while the list is good i think you should burn it .Don't settle for any man either Everyone has their little imperfections you just gotta find one with the ones you can deal with.

I think you should remove the chickflick thing. Loves to dance can also be another one that may get you no man. The rest are considerable and you may be able to tolerate him.

seems like a good list. stick to your guns. if this is what you need to be happy then don't stray from ur list. you will find who u r looking for. good luck!
